Proteinase K

Proteinase K is delivered with a stabilizing solution (Proteinase Buffer, PB) enabling storage for up to six months at 4°C without decrease of proteinase activity. Stability is considerably increased if Proteinase K is dissolved in Proteinase Buffer compared to Proteinase K dissolved in water. Proteinase Buffer is compatible with NucleoSpin® and NucleoBond® kits and also suitable for most other applications.

Note: NucleoSpin® or NucleoBond® kits may require different Proteinase K stock solution concentrations (e.g. NucleoSpin® Tissue: 20 mg/ml; NucleoSpin® 8/96 Tissue: 29 mg/ml).

• Solubility: Dissolves readily at 20 mg/ml in analytical grade water or PB to give a clear colourless solution.
  
• DNA content: < 2 ppm
  
• Contaminating deoxyribonuclease: corresponds (No degradation of genomic DNA observed after incubation for at least 6 h at 37°C in a typical restriction digest buffer: 33 mM Tris-acetate, pH 7.9, 10 mM magnesium acetate, 66 mM potassium acetate, 0.1 mg/ml BSA).
