Polishing/Buffing Plastic Products

Polishing creates a bright, glass-like finish to the plastic material. Polishing techniques are generally applied to the cut or edged edges of the material by hand,flamed or solvent edges. This gives the plastic a finished appearance that is attractive for displays, table tops and shelving to name a few. The polishing technique can be further enhanced by buffing which requires more hand work using various types of buffing equipment plus polishing compounds. Buffing is also used to diminish scratches or other defects on acrylic surfaces. Sanding softens edges or creates a "frosted" effect where desired.
