The Wooden Duck is dedicated to preserving the world's forest through the exclusive use of reclaimed timber. Most of the furniture wood source comes from demolished barns and warehouses throughout California and the Pacific Northwest. Douglas Fir, which is the most readily available reclaimed wood on the West Coast and the hardest of the "soft woods," makes up an abundant supply of the company's beautiful pieces.

The Teak used in the furniture construction came from demolished houses and other structures in Java, Indonesia. After a building is torn down, the wood is collected and brought to the factory where it is made into furniture.

Aside from being environmentally sensitive, the use of recycled wood furniture also offers unsurpassed quality from the old growth redwoods, cedars, pines, and Douglas firs. These older woods are denser, have fewer knots, and are richer in color than new growth.

The company also features local craftsmanship ready to customize and tailor certain pieces to accommodate any unique living style.
