It is a medium-bodied wine with the perfect balance of structure and acid leading to a medium-long finish. Vineyard Notes Hand harvested from premium Russian River Valley vineyards, the fruit for this Zinfandel was chosen for superior quality and variety. In warmer reaches of the valley where old vines persevere, grapes ripen over an extended season to develop wonderfully complex flavors. The old-vine dry-farmed Hillview site (managed by Bob Carrillo) and the Becnel family's high elevation vineyard contribute significantly to this balanced wine. Production Notes Following careful cluster sorting, each pick is fermented separately with select yeast strains in both small open-top French oak vats and stainless steel tanks. The wine is gently pressed off and aged in oak before the winemakers' barrel selection to blend this, Our Finest Selection.
